CQ Surrey Summer Challenge

The CQ Surrey Summer Challenge is (loosely) based on our visit to West Horsley Place in May although the challenge is not dependent upon a visit!

The inspiration is People in History linked to West Horsley Place.

To get you started there is a link to the people of West Horsley Place westhorsleyplace.org/people

The challenge is not a portrait challenge (although you can interpret it this way if you want), but just a starting point for you to weave their story into your work. For example, crosses for a religious figure, representations of love (?!?) for Henry VIII, or how would you quilt something to do with Guy Fawkes or Bamber Gascoigne? The choice is wide.

The finished piece should be 12 x 16 1/2” and we will have a ‘Show and Tell’ at our October meeting. We look forward to hearing your chosen stories and seeing your quiltlets.
